How the Dahl Docking System Works
The powerchair is driven into the vehicle. A plate attached to the underside of the powerchair lock into the Docking System which is mounted to the floor of the vehicle.
How is the Dahl System Different?
The shape of the plate ensures easier docking as it guides the chair into a secure and stable position. Once the chair is locked in it will not twist or move while driving.
The design of the low profile plate maximises the ground clearance under the power chair creating a superior advantage over bolt/pin mechanisms. This allows a power chair fitted with the Dahl system to better slide off and over higher obstacles, decreasing the chance of jamming and abruptly stopping the chair and getting stuck.
To release the chair from the Docking System simply push the the button which gets mounted on the dashboard. In the event of an emergency the red lever on the docking system works as a manual release.
The docking plate can either be fitted new to a TA powerchair or retrofitted down the line.
