VELA Independence chairs offer independence at home, work or school. A VELA chair allows the user to perform their usual standing or seated activities safely and comfortably without draining energy. The Vela Tango 700 electric appears like an office chair with brake and electric lift, however offers more practical functions and safety features. The Tango 700 is better suited in most situations for inside chores than a wheelchair or walker. With a central brake, this adjustable chair is walkable and sturdy. The 20/30cm electric height adjustable feature allows for a greater reach and assisted standing. The seat can rotate 90° LH and RH.
We will build each chair to the user’s unique fit and function requirements. You can configure this chair with various seats, backrests and accessories to fit your needs.

We will build each chair to the user’s unique fit and function requirements. The chair can be configured with either a ‘Contour’ or ‘Active’ seat and backrest. “I have been using this chair in an office setting since early 2020. The difference this chair has made to me is between continuing to work or having to leave my job. That to me is a big deal, as it is hard enough to find employment when you have a disability. Prior to having this chair my legs and feet were extremely tired and sore by the end of the day and then very restless at night making it hard to sleep. I have multiple sclerosis which has caused me the need to use a Vela Activity Chair in my kitchen. I met Ian Wylie (M&P Acccount Manager) the day he brought my Vela Chair. Claus has lived with cerebral palsy all his life. The paralysis is mainly evident on the left side of his body. A few years ago, Claus suffered a fracture in the lumbar area when he had a fall. To keep active after his fall, Claus has been given a VELA Tango Electric (El) Sit-stand Chair with a shallow seat and electric adjustment of the sitting height. The electric adjustment of the sitting height is essential for Claus, e.g. when he has to stand, since he has stiff hips.

Reason For Using the VELA Independence Chair
I was interested in the VELA Chair particularly for use in the kitchen, as tasks such as cooking and unstacking the dishwasher are things I really struggle with due to the amount of pottering involved, to the point I am not typically able to manage them. The VELA Chair appealed to me because it is designed to offer support while being foot-propelled and has an electric lift feature, meaning it seemed like a good solution for me in the kitchen on paper as it could help me reach the top cupboards seated, so I wanted to explore further.

The support that the Vela 700E Chair gives my body enables me to do a full days work without feeling that I cannot move after sitting in the chair for a length of time. The weight of the chair gives me huge confidence in the stability when I get up and move around the desk. Adjusting the height easily has helped as my body’s needs change and has helped me to reach higher cupboard spaces without the risk of falling.
